God’s creation is my inspiration, with a little help from Yupo!
As a graduate with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in illustration from Art Center College of Design in 1973, I have been a freelance illustrator for four decades, working with local ad agencies and designers, as well as national publishers.
After taking a watercolor class from noted exhibitor Barbara Stutheit in Laguna Beach I was introduced to Yupo paper by a fellow student and used it for an illustration project. I liked it so much I have been using it almost exclusively for my watercolors, as I love it's flexibility and the freshness and intensity of color I get with it.
Even though Yupo and Plein Air Painting are a perfect match for my loose style of watercolor painting, I am also known for my oil paintings.
I have been President of The Southern California Plein Air Painters Association and am a member of San Clemente and Orange Art Associations.
My current gallery representations include Mission Fine Art Gallery in San Juan Capistrano, and Crystal Cove Cottages “Store”.
